Dear Greenpeace,
As Greenpeace is recognized as a worldwide authority on issues concerning mankind's impact on the environment, we would like to receive your organization's ecological endorsement on our planned enterprise.

We, EVVEN C.A. (Equipo de Valor de Venezuela), are familiar with Greenpeace's Chuloteca declaration on shrimp cultivation and plan to adhere to it in developing our shrimp cultivation facilities. Briefly, we would like to know whether your organization has an "endorsement" procedure that we could follow, or have any other ideas to support us in our environmentally green shrimp facility.

Our enterprise is on Margarita Island, Venezuela. Our long-term plan is to raise the local variety of shrimp Penaeus Schmittii, and hope to be a genetic repository for this semi-endangered species. Plans include using all waste generated for sale in fertilizer and chitin/chitosan markets. Windmills have been selected to supply electric power. We are teamed with our island's maritime institute "Fundacion LaSalle" www.flasa.org.ve , www.edimar.org who serves as our marine biological specialists; they are, of course, also very concerned about environmental issues. We hope to be a flagship institution for the environmentally sound sustainable development methods of aqua-culture of shrimp. Our facilities are designed to provide continuous employment avoiding any seasonal lay-offs typical in other operations. We will cater the needs of the local community, providing jobs and infrastructure where there is now 40% unemployment. Our plan, with help from other environmental institutions such as yours, is to set the standard for future aqua-culture operations in the world.
We would like to hear from Greenpeace about your interest in our project.

Currently EVVEN is soliciting funding, has a full business plan, and is maintaining a vendor source list. Any support from Greenpeace would be much appreciated.
Thank you very much,
Arne Ebermann
